Arrival

What an eventful first day! Another passenger confused my red-ribboned luggage bag with her own and took mine from the conveyor belt. So what started as me being (one of) the first passengers to get off the plane ended in me being the last to leave the airport. It had a good ending though, the lady who accidentally took my bag came back in a panic, apologised and even gave me a hug when she saw her bag still going round and round on the conveyor belt. Hehe.

Pam's wedding was also an excellent one. I've been to a lot of Malay weddings and it's just coming in, eating and then leaving. Pam's wedding had the Ngajat (a traditional Sarawakian warrior dance) and some songs from some of her friends. But my favourite part of the night was the speech that Zuliana as the bride's best friend gave. It was funny and touching at the same time. Lots of love there. :)

Anyway, while watching the video montage especially during the scene in the mosque, there was a picture of Pam looking demure and yet at peace. It hit me then the sacrifice(s) she made to marry the man of her dreams. I'm sure she won't lose herself in her new role but I can't help feeling that there is a part of her that is lost forever.

But I guess that's what happens when you get married. There are some parts of you that needs to be remodeled, reconditioned or restructured to create a stronger foundation for the marriage.
